Single and double-storey rear, side return, wrap-around. Structural alterations, internal remodelling and full refits. We know how to tie new work into an existing property and keep you living on site while we do it.
Scope scales with the project, but these four areas are the spine of every extensions & alterations engagement with Lime.
Rear, side and wrap-around extensions tied properly into the existing structure, with brick and roof finish matched to the original house.
RSJs, load-bearing wall removals, knock-throughs and full structural opening-out under building control sign-off.
Whole-house re-layouts including kitchen and bathroom relocations, new heating, rewires and modern insulation upgrades.
Zoned working areas, dust protection and clear daily timings so the family can stay in the house through most of the build.
A standard 25 to 40 m² single-storey rear extension takes 12 to 16 weeks from groundworks to handover, including the few weeks of disruption before the original wall is breached.
Usually yes. We zone the work so one half of the house stays habitable, with dust barriers between live and working areas. We will tell you upfront if the scope means a short rental is sensible.
Yes. We work with our long-standing architects and planning consultants on the design, submit the application, manage the planning conditions and book the building control inspections.
Lime covers Lancashire as a matter of course, with the home counties of South Ribble, Chorley and Fylde as our densest working area. Beyond on negotiation.
Drop us a line or pop into the office. We’ll come out, walk the site, and give you honest advice on what’s realistic.
